Group 1: Daytime schedule, for those with daytime preference
Beginning the week of FEBRUARY 6th, Teacher Training will be held Mondays 11:30am- 3PM & Fridays 9:30-1pm until April 6th. Starting April 12th, Fridays will change to Thursdays, 9:30am -1pm, until graduation MID JUNE. Additionally, the group will meet the last Sunday of every month from 8am - 4pm.
Group 2: Evening schedule, for those needing evening classes
Start date FEBRUARY 8th, classes will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm - 10pm and Thursday evenings from 6pm - 9:30 pm. Group 1 & 2 will join together the last Sunday of every month from 8am- 4pm.

To receive your certification, in addition to completing the classroom hours, you will be required to participate in three classes per week, as well as completing 50 practicum teaching hours. (To be offered at the studio as donation classes (the greater good classes) OR on your own privately or at another studio. You must provide signatures of participants)

LEARN FROM THE BEST /// Barb Leese
Barb’s passion for health and mind/body wellness began at the age of three practicing yoga alongside her mom and by age ten, had left home to train professionally to become a dancer in Toronto at the National Ballet School. She went on to graduate with honors and to join the National Ballet of Canada as a classical ballerina performing around the world in both classi- cal and contemporary works. Her next career was in musical theater with the Phantom of the Opera performing with both the Toronto and the International touring companies in Vancouver and Hawaii. She moved on to become Associate Resident Director of the Toronto show and was involved with various other musical productions.
As a Certified Professional in Yoga, Relax and Renew, Personal Training and Mind/Body, Barb brings a wealth of knowledge to creating a gracefully flowing class in an atmosphere of openness and trust that balances strength and flexibility while bringing the mind and nervous system into balance. Barb has co created a 200hr yoga teacher-training program using all of her experience and training to assist yoga practitioners who are interested in becoming teachers or for those who want to deepen their understanding of yoga. Barb has over 20 years of experience and has taught yoga and stress management techniques to fitness and allied health care professionals. Barb uses her multi faceted background to cross train competitive dancers in both ballet and yoga offering young dancers a wonderful balance of strength, flexibility and a keen understand- ing of how to focus the mind. Always looking to deepen her knowledge, Barb has just complet- ed undergraduate courses in Dance Education at York University.
Barb is the co creator of Sheridan College’s SERC movement classes for seniors and has been teaching a gentle flow yoga class to her own senior clientele using chairs for the last four years with great results in their range of motion, strength and balance. Barb also has had her own loyal yoga clientele for the last five years whom she is committed to in finding how their yoga will best serve them in enhancing their lives. She has created children’s movement and yoga classes for classrooms coordinating their academic curriculum within the class.
