At Some Like it Hot we believe that yoga is for everyone. We offer many styles, teachers and times so that you are able to find the best fit for you. Everyone is capable of practicing yoga and receiving ALL of its benefits. Yoga assists you to improve your psychological, emotional and physical wellness through breath, posture and movement. Yoga will challenge you, trim, tone and reform you. Ultimately it will make you stronger, happier and healthier than you were before.

I AM NEW TO YOGA WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Congratulations!   You are at the beginning of a journey that will change your life.   You will experience calmness, balance, and renewed energy immediately after your practice. It may take a few classes to find the perfect style for you. We do encourage you to try all of the classes that we offer, challenge yourself and find the best fit for YOU!  

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We recommend that you wear something that is comfortable. If you are participating in a hot yoga class, we suggest you wear something that is moisture wicking. Cotton tends to hold on to the water and feels wet and heavy during your class. Capri's or shorts and a tank top is the norm. No shoes will be permitted in the yoga room. Usually barefeet- although yoga socks are becoming popular!


WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
A yoga mat, towel and water. If you don’t have these or forget, no worries!  We rent mats & towels and sell beautiful water bottles in our pro shop.  

HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD I DRINK?  
Come to class hydrated. Coming to class hydrated will be most beneficial for you! A mimimum of 2 liters in the 24hrs prior to attending a hot yoga class, is what we recommend. 

CAN I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
We suggest you practice yoga on a empty stomach. Try not to eat anything  for 2 hours before your practice. if you must, keep it light- a piece of fruit or some soup. Eating before a yoga class can lead to cramping, upset stomach and nausea. The body will be focused on digesting and the fluids in your body will rush to the digestive tract and this will decrease the energy available for your practice. You will feel heavy and lethargic.

HOW HOT WILL IT GET?
We heat the room to between 35 and 39 degrees dependant on the specific class. Heat helps your muscles stretch and lengthen, it also helps to prevent injury. Hot yoga is very healing, as your body detoxifies through Sweat!

WILL I LOOSE WEIGHT?
Yes!  The more you practice, you will look and feel better as you trim and tone unwanted fat. Yoga helps balance your metabolism to promote weight loss. By practicing 3-5 days a week you will begin to notice a significant change and you'll cleanse the toxins stored in your body to achieve your ideal body weight.
