Improve your heart health! A course designed for bringing awareness to the benefits of yoga and improving cardiovascular health. Taught by registered Cardiac Cardiac Yoga Teacher Sherry Short. Cardio Yoga is is a modified version of traditional yoga with movements that are safe and easy for the cardiac patient. Cardiac Yoga includes gentle stretching, modified yoga postures, stress management techniques, pranayama ( breathing practices) , visualization, mediation and relaxation. Studies show that a lifestyle-driven approach including yoga, meditation, and healthy diet can lower blood pressure and decrease stress levels, which in turn, cut the risk of heart disease.

This workshop focuses on engaging with one's partner in a supportive physical practice and a space to prepare for childbirth. We address postures, massage, and breathing techniques to cope with the sensations that arise during labor and which help relieve some of the discomforts of pregnancy. This workshop will include partner yoga, massage techniques and labor assists. This Prenatal Partner Yoga Workshop gives participants a physical and verbal vocabulary with which to have a dialogue around both pregnancy and labor. No yoga experience necessary. The workshop is suitable for all trimesters. We encourage and welcome couples and other birthing partners/support to attend. The workshop is 3 hours long. You may want to bring a regular pillow, water and a snack. A yoga or pilates ball will be useful as well.
